Please be aware that you must be 21 years of age or older to adopt from us. We verify rental/condo policies as well as home ownership. If you have had prior pets, we will call your vet to confirm responsible pet care. A home visit will also be conducted prior to approval. Forever Home Dog Rescue limits it’s adoption range to about a five hour radius from the Des Moines metro area. Forever Home only adopts out dogs as indoor pets except in the very rare case where being an outdoor dog is what a particular dog prefers.

As of 1/1/2022 our adoption fees will change as follows – Puppies under 1 year of age – $300, Adults 1-9 years – $250, Seniors 9+ – $150

Includes: spay/neuter, up to date on core shots, microchip, heartworm test for dogs over 1 year of age.

Note – Due to the time it takes to schedule puppies for spay/neuter surgery and the challenge it can be to schedule surgeries with out of town adopters, puppies who have not yet had surgery will only be adopted within a 30 mile or so radius of the Des Moines Metro area
