The most important part of rescuing and rehoming dogs is their time spent in a temporary care home. Without them none of this would be possible. For the next few month we’d like to introduce you to our amazing, selfless volunteers who transform these sad, scared, sometimes sick dogs. Meet our Temporary Care Givers:
If you’ve ever considered adopting a rescued dog and have kids or grandkids, the question of “are they good with kids” is always the first concern. Long-time volunteers, Meagan’s children are often the “kid-tested” reason we feel confident adopting many of our dogs to families with kids. Every member of her active home are involved with the socialization process, from her kids and very understanding husband to her 4 resident dogs. We are grateful for the countless hours Meagan and her family devote to our dogs, events and helping our new dogs.
Forever Home Dog Rescue | Des Moines
We pull dogs when they are in danger of being euthanized in high kill shelters. We then arrange transport of the dogs and put them into temporary care homes. We prefer to have our dogs in homes because this allows us to know our dogs behavior and personality better. It also allows the dog to start learning what it is like to be a part of a family and what is expected of them.
*Forever Home Dog Rescue does not have a physical location for people to come see dogs. Our dogs are all in temporary care homes. Please fill out an adoption application listing the dogs you are interested in meeting and we will contact you to answer questions about the dog and set up a time for a meet and greet. Please note that we are all volunteers with full time jobs and families. We try to return messages in a timely manner but sometimes the demand for a particular dog or litter of puppies is high and it is hard to keep up with all the inquiries. Please be patient with us and feel free to contact us again if you have not heard from us within a day or two.
If you are interested in being a volunteer, a temporary home for a rescued dog or are interested in one of our adoptable dogs, please contact us today by filling out our short form found by clicking here and we will make sure you are taken care of.
